10 Reasons Why You Can't Miss Launchpad 2k15

So, by now you must have realised what Launchpad is.
This is thanks in part to our common profile pictures and cover pics (we're so excited about our event that we just can't stop sharing it!).
Yet for those who have missed the buzz, Launchpad is the annual induction program of Qutopia that aims to induct new members into the society and discover new quizzing talent in the process. This year, we have the event on the Independence day. You need to make teams of two and reach Campus- 6 Auditorium at 9:00 AM because that is when the event starts.

Now, here are 10 reasons why I ask you to ignore the coziness of your bed and come to a quiz:

1. It Is Fun

Yeah, the hell it is! Our Quizmasters have taken great pains in setting up questions that both challenge and amaze you at the same time. You are going to get a feeling of "Oh, I've heard about this before!" Just dig a bit deeper into your grey cells and you'll have the answer.

2. You Have Nothing Else To Do On A National Holiday

If you are worried about hurting your nationalist feelings by missing out on the Independence Day parade, rest assured because we'll send you the YouTube link of the event in the evening (find the link yourself if we forget). If your plan was to sleep the holiday off, this can be your opportunity at getting up early and rewarding yourself with some jaw-dropping, mind opening questions and answers that'll chase away your drowsiness.

3. Good For Your GK

A lot of questions would be like "Oh, I've heard about this before!", but you might find some questions that lead you to the discovery of some facts that you would have never heard before. You can use it as food for thought or write it down in your diary. We would be obliged if we made you genuinely curious in a long while.

4. Show Off Your Knowledge To Others

There is always at least one topic that you have more knowledge on than other people. Since the questions are going to be on a wide range of topics you might find a question on your topic of interest. Being the only one to know an answer in a group of people gives you an air of awesomeness that you can carry with you for quite some time. Maybe, you will even end up impressing someone you like. ;)

5. You Might Be The Next Omkar Amrutanshu or Sagar Saurabh

Qutopia boasts of quizzers who have won laurels both on the national and the international level like Omkar Amrutanshu who was the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz's International Champion last year along with Sagar Saurabh. He was also the regional champion this year along with Abhinav Dhar. This induction program aims to find new talent that'll continue the legacy of the society. Who knows, you might be the next big thing for Qutopia, the one that we're looking for!

6. Lots Of Goodies And Extravagant Prizes

We have loads of audience prizes awaiting you. You might end up spending the remainder of your day getting a new haircut or dining at a fancy restaurant with the host of gifts and coupons that we intend to distribute as audience prizes. Apart from these audience prizes, six teams that qualify onto the stage round are going to receive certificates of merit and amazing prizes just to make sure that you return the next year.

7. The Auditorium Has Air Conditioners, Speakers And A Giant Projector Screen

The picture shows Campus-6 audi during Qutopia's last quiz i.e. Udghosh (the audi was filled to capacity). Anyone who has been to the Campus-6 audi will testify that it has nice air conditioning and a giant projector screen. This is an amazing getaway from your hot and humid rooms. Just come to the audi, sit back and relax. We're going to put up a nice show for you. Who knows, you could qualify for the finals and be the centre of attraction of the event.

8. Special Award For Highest Scoring Girls Team (Boys Don't Feel Bad)

Time to show girl power! Saheli beauty being our title sponsors, the highest scoring girls team in the prelims is set to get a special prize and a goodies bag from Saheli beauty.

9. It's A Dry Day

The 15th of August being a dry day, you cannot plan to spend the day getting high on wet stuff. But don't worry, we'll get you high on quizzing. The pleasure will be all ours if we get you addicted.
